WCC Sponsors 2004 Wapiti Weekend
Every summer the Arizona Elk Society conducts a two-day event for Arizona's
youth. This "Wapiti Weekend", as it has been named, is a learning forum designed specifically for those youngsters who are just getting started in wildlife conservation and/or hunting sports. Over the
course of two days participants will receive instructions in tracking, compass orientation, wildlife recognition, live firearm safety instruction, an introduction to archery, and more.
With the help of the Wildlife Conservation Council, the 2004 Wapiti Weekend
event took place on June 19th & 20th, 2004. Approximately 90 youngsters between the ages of 7 and 16 attended the 2004 outdoor education camp.
